Following the great news that Shelbee Sewing received the award for the 'Best All Age Sewing School for Oxfordshire' , Jennings who manage the Boundary site have kindly placed this write up in their news sheet, which i thought all may wish to read as it shows how we all have contributed to making Shelbee Sewing a lovely place to sew.
TENANT SPOTLIGHT –
A sewing sanctuary where everyone’s welcome!
Step into Shelbee Sewing, a lovely studio space at The Boundary in Garsington. Here you’ll discover a peaceful, relaxing environment, where you can lose yourself in a creative sewing haven.
Surrounded by beautiful material, thread, and patterns galore; founder and tutor Caroline King, will support and guide you as much or as little as you need. And the great thing is, everyone gets to make exactly what they like – tote bags, patchwork pieces, clothing or even zero-waste sewing with leftover pieces – the choices are yours and limitless.
You can start your creative journey under Caroline’s expert tuition with various day and evening classes for ages 8 to 98. And for the more experienced needleworkers, Caroline runs social sewing get-togethers, providing help, advice, and encouragement, along with plenty of chatter and even WhatsApp groups!
It’s no surprise to hear how cherished and appreciated Caroline is by some of her regular attendees. One highlighted “I just love it – we support each other and not just in sewing”. Caroline has also recently received further recognition for Shelbee Sewing, winning an award for ‘Best All Age Sewing School for Oxfordshire 2023’.
Caroline says people visit from miles around, not only because the location is good, but the size of the space makes it so personal. Inspired by her mum at a young age, she created a business from her passion and skill for the craft and hence why Shelbee Sewing has been at The Boundary for 10 wonderful years.
